The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Plain English
David says, "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" He adds that the Lord is "the strength of my life." Salvation means God rescues you, and light means you are not left in the dark. Those questions are not a dare, because fear has a poor answer when the Lord is your light and your strength.
Devotional
The power goes out, and the familiar room becomes a place of bumps and guesses. One lamp still works, and the chairs are visible again. David calls the Lord his light, his salvation, and the strength of his life. You can tell the truth about what frightens you and still ask, with him, why fear should rule.
