The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalm 62:1-2King James Version

Plain English

David says, "Truly my soul waiteth upon God," and "I shall not be greatly moved." Waiteth means waits, and not greatly moved means you may feel the shake without being ruined. God alone is his rock, his salvation, and his defense. Help comes from God, so the soul has a place to wait that will hold.

Devotional

You open the letter from the bank at the desk, and the number is not the one you hoped to see. The room feels less solid than it did an hour ago. A rock in a rising creek does not pretend the water is calm. It stays put, and you need not be swept off your feet for good.
