The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10King James Version

Plain English

Paul says, "When I am weak, then am I strong." He speaks of weaknesses, insults, needs, and distresses borne for Christ's sake. He is not saying the pain feels pleasant or that you should pretend to enjoy being insulted. He is saying that in those weak places he found Christ's strength, so the struggle and the help were both real.

Devotional

Money is short, and someone in the aisle speaks to you as if the shortage were a joke. You feel small there and angry in the car afterward. Weakness, need, and insult can arrive together. Christ's strength does not wait for you to look successful before it meets you.
