Plain English
David says, "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD," and ye means you. Good courage is bravery that trusts, not a loud mood you have to manufacture. He strengthens the heart of all who hope in the Lord. The courage and the strength belong together, and hope is the hand that receives them.
Devotional
There is a phone call you have delayed because the truth will be uncomfortable for someone you love. Your heart feels thin when you reach for the receiver. Courage, here, is not the absence of a tremor. It is hope in the Lord, and He is the one who strengthens that heart for the conversation.
