The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Proverbs 14:29King James Version

Plain English

'Slow to wrath' means slow to anger, and that kind of person has great understanding. A hasty spirit is a quick temper, and it lifts folly up high, which means it puts foolishness on display. Understanding can wait a moment, while foolishness is in a hurry.

Devotional

The light turns red, and the car behind you honks before you have moved an inch. Your hands tighten on the wheel. A slow answer can keep a small irritation from becoming a scene in the road.
