The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Plain English
'A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance' means a glad heart makes a cheerful face. Maketh means makes, and countenance means face. 'Sorrow of the heart' can break the spirit, so be gentle with a heavy face and do not tell a grieving person to pretend.
Devotional
Across the breakfast table, a real smile can warm the whole room. Later, someone else may sit with a sorrow that has worn them thin. Share gladness when it is honest, and give a sad heart room to breathe.
