The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecclesiastes 3:1King James Version

Plain English

'To every thing there is a season' means life comes in times, not in one endless stretch of the same weather. There is a time for every purpose under heaven. Some seasons are sweet, and some are heavy, and God does not promise that every season will feel good.

Devotional

A garden has planting time, a hot spell, harvest, and frost. You do not scold the tomatoes for failing to ripen in a freeze. If this month feels bare or bitter, tell God the truth about it, because a hard season is real and it is not the whole of your life.
