The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Plain English
'The law of the Lord is perfect,' and perfect here means whole and complete. Converting the soul means it turns and restores the inner person. The testimony of the Lord is sure, which means trustworthy, and it makes the simple wise, meaning ordinary people who are ready to learn.
Devotional
A cracked lamp flickers and leaves the corners dim. A sound lamp fills the room with a steady light. God's word is that sound lamp, whole enough to turn a soul back and to give wisdom to ordinary people.
