The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalm 51:12King James Version

Plain English

'Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation' means bring back to me the joy of your salvation. Unto means to, and thy means your. 'Uphold me with thy free spirit' means hold me up with a willing spirit, not a spirit that does whatever it pleases.

Devotional

A hymn you once loved can go quiet for a long stretch. Then the tune comes back while you fold towels, and your throat tightens with gratitude. Ask God to restore that joy and to hold you up with a willing spirit.
