The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Luke 15:20King James Version

Plain English

The son got up and came home. While he was yet a great way off, still far away, his father saw him, had compassion, and ran. He fell on his neck and kissed him, which means he hugged him tight and led with a welcome.

Devotional

Picture a long lane and a father who does not stay on the porch with his arms folded. He runs toward the son who is coming home. The first thing the son meets is a hug and a kiss, and if you turn toward God, this is the kind of welcome He gives.
