The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Plain English
'Follow after the things which make for peace' means pursue peace on purpose. Also pursue the things that edify, and edify means build up. Wherewith means by which, so peace and building people up belong in the same errand.
Devotional
A fence with one loose wire can trouble a whole pasture. Mending it is not dramatic, and it keeps harm from spreading. Clear up a misunderstanding, or offer the apology that lets someone stand taller.
