The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Plain English
We are "compassed about," surrounded, by "so great a cloud of witnesses," people who went before us in faith. So we "lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us," the sin that tangles our feet. "Run with patience" means run with endurance "the race that is set before us." We do it "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith," the one who begins our faith and completes it, who endured the cross and sat down at God's right hand.
Devotional
At a picnic race, a boy tries to run in a heavy coat. He is hot and slow until he drops the coat on the grass. Hebrews says to lay aside every weight and the sin that tangles us, and to run while looking unto Jesus. He already endured the cross, and he can teach your feet the next step.
