Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Plain English
Paul prays to "the God of hope." He asks God to "fill you with all joy and peace in believing," joy and peace that come as you trust him. Then you "may abound in hope," overflow with hope, and this happens "through the power of the Holy Ghost," the Holy Spirit. Hope is not a feeling you have to crank up by yourself.
Devotional
A hallway lamp is turned down so low that the steps are hard to see. Someone turns it up, and the same bulb fills the hall. Paul asks the God of hope to fill you with joy and peace as you believe. The power belongs to the Holy Spirit, not to your best mood.
