The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Revelation 21:4King James Version

Plain English

In the world God makes new, he "shall wipe away all tears," and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. "The former things are passed away" means that old grief has gone. This is hope for the day he makes all things new. It is not a claim that this week will be painless.

Devotional

A handkerchief comes out at a graveside, and nobody should be told to dry up before the prayer is over. Tears are honest in this world. Revelation looks ahead to the day when God will wipe away all tears, and death, sorrow, crying, and pain will be gone. Hold that hope without pretending this week cannot hurt.
