The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Plain English
"Let the peace of God rule in your hearts" means let God's peace be the one that settles things inside you, "and be ye thankful." "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly" means let his word live in you fully, so that you teach and sing "psalms and hymns and spiritual songs." "Whatsoever ye do in word or deed" means whatever you say or do, "do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
Devotional
At supper, an old irritation wants the last word about who forgot the bread. Colossians says to let the peace of God rule in your hearts, and to be thankful. The word of Christ can live in that kitchen, in talk and in song. Whatever you do, in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, with thanks.
