The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Plain English
Paul says to think on "whatsoever things are true," whatever is true. "Honest" here means honorable, "Just" means fair and right. "Pure" means clean, "lovely" means good and pleasant, and "of good report" means worth speaking well of. If there is any "virtue," any real goodness, and any "praise," "think on these things."
Devotional
The evening news is loud, and a kind letter from a grandchild sits unopened on the counter. Both ask for your attention. Philippians gives the mind a better list: what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. You can open the letter, look at a flower in a jar, or rest on a promise of God.
