The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5King James Version

Plain English

"Let your conversation be without covetousness" means let your way of life, not only your talk, be free of greedy craving. "Be content with such things as ye have." God's promise is the reason: "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee," so contentment and his presence belong together.

Devotional

A neighbor's new car shines in the next driveway, and the wanting pinches for a minute. Hebrews says to live without covetousness and to be content with such things as you have. The strong reason is not that your own driveway looks impressive. It is that God has said he will never leave you nor forsake you.
