The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14King James Version

Plain English

"The Lord himself shall give you a sign." The sign is, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Behold means look, and Immanuel is the same name as Emmanuel, and it means God with us. Isaiah spoke this long before the birth, and the coming of Jesus was a sign the Lord himself gave.

Devotional

Some families keep an old letter in the Bible, a promise written down years before anyone saw it come true. Isaiah said the Lord himself would give a sign: a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. God kept that word in the coming of Jesus. A promise from him can be old and still be sure.
