The reading changes at midnight Central Time, and it stays the same all day.
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
Plain English
Paul says thanks be to God for his "unspeakable gift," and unto means to, while unspeakable means a gift too great for words. Words run out before the gift does. That gift is Jesus and the grace God gives in him, so thanks is the right answer when a description falls short.
Devotional
Someone places a gift in your hands so fitting that a plain thank you feels too small, and you stand there quiet. Paul gives thanks to God for a gift too great for words, and that gift is Jesus. A simple thank you is still the right thing to offer.
